WHAT WE DO

‘He did not dance for the audience. He did not dance for appreciation. He did not dance for the music. He danced only for himself… He had opened himself and the dance had come to him.’

– Amish, Immortals of Meluha

Sanskruti students performance

We take our name from the Sanskrit word Sanskruti, which means culture. We are based and operate from within Cambridge and the surround region.

Teaching: Sanskruti School of Dance offers regular classes in Bharatanatyam and Bollywood dance styles

Creating:  Sanskruti Dance professionally creates new choreographic work using the vocabulary of South Asian dance and music

Outreach: We raise awareness of South Asian art forms using workshops and performances in varied venues and for different occasions; schools, museums, hospitals, libraries, cultural festivals and private events.
