SANSKRUTI BOLLYWOOD- TEACHER APPRENTICES

Arjun Nair
My name is Arjun, and I’ve been doing dance for 8 Years with my Bollywood dance teacher Krishna Zivraj Nair. I love dancing. I love the way I can express myself with fast paced movement. I have danced in many performances such as the Blue Avatar,Energize,Love Dance Live,Rangeela and U dance. Through my years at Sankruti, I have been able to adapt and create my own steps and I am able to perform the steps a lot better. My vision is that we do a lot more shows and adults or kids that have no connection to the dance school come sit and watch and experience Indian culture
I would also like more dance residencies where we all create a dance from each other’s movement.

Neha Varghese
Neha has been learning bollywood for 2 years at Sanskruti. She believes that dancing can make everyone happier and it has made her happier itself. It has also helped her express herself through her movements. She enjoys teaching younger children in hopes of inspiring them to pursue their dreams. Neha hopes that in the future, Sanskruti will continue to grow and reach more people, and maybe have its own dance studio!

Sunishka Sharma
Hi! My name is Sunishka and I am 13 years old. During my five years doing Bollywood in Sanskruti, I have improved in a variety of skills like balance, flexibility and stamina. I have had the wonderful opportunity to perform on stage at various events, experiencing the pressure and joy in each and every performance. One of my favourite performances was when we performed Bollynatyam, a unique fusion of Bollywood and Bharatanatyam, to the song “Sapphire” by Ed Sheeran and Arjit Singh during the 150 years of the Cambridge Corn Exchange celebration.
Now, I am excited to become a teacher apprentice in Sanskruti. In this role, I look forward to helping and supporting the younger students as they learn to embrace themselves and have fun, while also assisting the teacher with dance rehearsals and costume/prop designs. I am excited to develop more skills in both dancing and teaching whilst also enjoying my time here. For me, Bollywood dance isn’t just a dance style—it is a way of expressing yourself and letting go of all the worries in a beautiful form.”
